Details: The second activity, also in partnership with Development Hub, focused on the applications of nonviolence and nonviolent alternatives, as well as the relationship between nonviolence and democracy.
Activity 3: International Women’s Day Celebration

Details: This event, organized in collaboration with Development Hub and Hope Organization, featured discussions on women as peacebuilders. The celebration included a bazaar, a feminist movement exhibition, theatrical performances, and musical segments, showcasing strong participation and engagement.
Activity 4: Methodology of Nonviolence Workshop
Date: March 31 and April 1, 2024
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Details: A two-day workshop focusing on nonviolence concepts, types, principles, and methods. It included 15 participants (7 men and 8 women) and featured high engagement in discussions and a performance of “The Play of the Oppressed.” Certificates of achievement in the basics of nonviolence were awarded to all participants.
Activity 5: Entertainment Event for Children
Date: April 23-24, 2024
Location: El Fasher, North Darfur
Details: In partnership with Mnaash Cultural Center, this event provided psychosocial support for children affected by war, focusing on entertainment to alleviate trauma.
Activity 6: Nonviolence and Social Change Workshop
Date: May 9-11, 2024
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Details: A two-day workshop that engaged 16 participants from various Sudanese regions. The training emphasized nonviolence principles and included discussions, exercises on trust-building, and case studies on nonviolence and social change. Participants expressed appreciation for the training and called for further workshops.
Activity 7: Basics of the Alternatives to Violence Project Workshop
Date: June 26-28, 2024
Location Kampala, Uganda
Details: This workshop focused on alternatives to violence in resolving conflicts, with 30 young participants from different regions of Sudan. The event served as a conclusion to the Civil Society and Democratic Culture project and emphasized promoting nonviolence principles. Recommendations included increasing awareness, continuity of training, and expanding activities.
Activity 8: International Day of Democracy Forum
Date: September 15, 2024
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Details: A forum titled “Democracy in Post-War Sudan” was held, featuring a welcoming speech by the director of Binaa and discussions on democracy, justice, equality, and development. The event concluded with recommendations on enhancing democracy in the post-war context and acknowledged the support of local civil society organizations.
